Memorial donations can be made in Larry's honor to the Damascus Ruritan Club or Bethel United Church of Christ. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wallace, a sister, Linda Ramsey, a sister Arlene Bjorkman, and a brother Roger Wallace. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren Jeremy (Jennifer) Wallace, Richard (Robin Chismar) Wallace, Angelina Wallace, Luke (Jessica) Wallace, Maria (Luke) Smith, Diana Wallace, Brandon (Anna) Wallace, Brent (Jastyn) Wallace, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a sister Jackie Moretz. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Lorena "Lorie" (Flannery) Wallace, their children Thomas (Patty) Wallace, Ronald (Jodi) Wallace and their daughter-in-law Regena (Bob) Slutz. He and his wife Lorie were selected as the Distinguished Citizens of the Year in 2017. He was a member of Damascus Ruritan Club, and Bethel United Church of Christ, where he and his wife were involved with the food pantry at the church as well as helping to make thousands of apple dumplings as a fundraiser for their church. Larry enjoyed rebuilding John Deere tractors and golfing. He was a graduate of Goshen High School, worked as a farmer and retired in 1999 from International Mill Service. Larry was born in Alliance on November 10, 1937, the son of the late Paul L. Wallace, 83, of Salem, passed away at his home on Friday, December 25, 2020. (Cheryl) Fritz of Hadley three daughters, Deborah (Thomas) DeRoss of Tipp City, Ohio, Penny Fritz of Hadley and Teri (Danny) Shook of Hadley a sister, Olive Bishop of Greenville six grandchildren, Kelli (Doug) Roberts, Ronald (Jodi) Fritz, Aaron (Jennifer) DeRoss, Amy (Michael) Russo, Jason Shook and Stacy Shook and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Rodney G. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Sandy Lake Sportsman’s Club and the National Skeet Shooting Association, being named in 1989 to the 12-gage All State Team. An avid outdoorsman, skeet shooting was his passion and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was a member of Old Salem United Methodist Church, Greenville. He also was self-employed as a farmer on the family farm in Salem Township. He had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car and later Trinity Industries of Greenville, having retired in 1989. On March 29, 1949, he married the former Mabel A. ![]() ![]() ![]() He was a 1948 graduate of the former Penn High School, Greenville. He was born May 1, 1931, in Salem Township, a son of the late Ralph W. ![]() 26, 2008, at Sharon Regional Health System.
